The Quality Learning Department is focused on supporting the 22 school districts served by the Mississippi Bend AEA in the successful implementation of the No Child Left Behind legislation.
Our expertise in school improvement processes will be a valuable asset to districts as they design improvement plans which respond to the data they gather.
We support curriculum in addition to reading, math and science as we convene Content Area Teacher Networks in social studies, fine arts, guidance, TAG.
Technology becomes a transparent tool as we assist districts in making curriculum and technology interdependent in the school improvement process.
The Quality Learning Consultants, as a readily accessible team, promote systemic school improvement leadership, by providing exemplary learning experiences that assist and empower schools in meeting the learning needs of all students in a resource-rich, quality climate of trust, support, and mutual respect.

This Desktop Reference outlines what is new under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 for each program supported under the Elementary and Secondary Act of 1965 and other statues. It also describes how the Act's four guiding principles (accountability, flexibility and local control, parental choice, and what works) are brought to bear on many of these programs. The intent is to provide a substantive overview of policy changes and emphases for state and district officials. Programs for which no funding was requested in fiscal years 2002 and 2003 are not included.
