Brief description of program:
Home Schooling or Competent Private Instruction (CPI) is private instruction that is provided to a child in Iowa. The AEA 9 Home Schooling program offers information and support to the parents, guardian or legal custodian of a child of compulsory attendance age who chooses to educate their child outside the traditional public school setting (Iowa Code section 299A.1; 281--Iowa Administrative Code 31). Each April, the AEA 9 Home Schooling program addresses the compliance requirement for Home School baseline and annual testing by providing an alternate ITBS/ITED testing time and site for parents and school districts.
