Description of Special Education Division
Purpose: The purpose of the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency Special Education Division, as a leader in providing services for individuals from birth to age 21 with special needs, is to achieve high levels of learning through equitable access to quality education for each student in an environment of mutual respect, trust, enthusiasm and cooperation.

Services provided by the Integrated Services Plat form include school improvement, school and community planning, house file 2272 support, curriculum support, data network technology support, staff development, K-12 lending libraries, driver education, student programs staff development, a professional library, a curriculum laboratory, video production and duplication, and special education services which include Audiologists, Audiometrists, Communication Aides, Educational Consultants, Home Intervention Teachers, Itinerant Teachers, Hearing Impaired, Visually Impaired, Occupational Therapists, Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Physical Therapists, School Psychologists, Social Workers, Secretarial Support Staff, Speech/Language Pathologists, and Transition Specialist.
