Staff Development
Staff Development is an integral part of everything we do at the Mississippi Area Education Agency. We offer courses and workshops for professional growth and personal development. Courses may be taken for relicensure or graduate credit. Informational workshops are offered for shorter time spans and are not available for credit. Persons wishing to teach a course may submit a Professional Development Course Proposal for consideration.

Renewal Center
Districts interested in forming learning teams to meet a school goal may apply for relicensure credit. Our Renewal Center serves as a site for initial screening and approval of applications for licensure renewal. For further information about any of these programs, please contact:

The Iowa Legislature passed a law effective July 1, 2008 that prohibits smoking in the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency (Agency) facilities an its grounds; including parking lot and vehicles.
Beginning July 1, 2008 customers and employees of the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency are prohibited from smoking on any Agency owned, leased or rented property. This includes all offices.
If Learning Center employees witness external customers smoking on Agency grounds, they will remind external customers of the law and will report the incident to their Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency supervisor.
