This site, developed and run by Digital Equipment Corporations Research Labs, is one of the quickest and most complete search engines you'll find on the web. What sets it apart from the others is its ability to search through the entire text of documents--not just titles or keywords--to find what you're looking for. For example, if you ask it to find, "grants for professional development," it will turn up any document with those precise words anywhere in its text. (And it usually finds plenty.) Our search for "grants for education" got 119 matches.
  Classroom Connect on the Net
Classroom Connect helps schools with everything from finding out about education conferences to setting up their own Web pages (free of charge). The home page will get you to: ConferenceWeb, ClassroomWeb (a database of other schools with Web sites), Jump Station (miscellaneous resources), and Products. As the page says, it has "all the training guides and tools you need to integrate the Internet into your classroom."
  Council on Foundations
The Council on Foundations is a non-profit association of grant making foundations and corporations. Lists regional groups that enhance philanthropy in their regions.

Choose "Grants" for directory of foundations, non-profit organizations, government grants, charities, and fundraising events. Students supply personal data on fastWEB to match data with funding sources. Funding matches are mailed daily to student mailboxes.

An excellent source of information on foundations and corporate giving. Find archive of the newsletters Philanthropy News Digest and Foundation Giving. Also find "A Proposal Writing Short Course."

Provides links to agencies that provide grant monies and has searching capabilities to find sources.

  The Education Department
The Education Department has hooked its World Wide Web home page to the online Federal Register to make finding ED-related notices easier. Users can find links to regulations, grant announcements, priorities and other notices.
  THOMAS: Legislative Information on the Internet
Provides links to full text versions of House and Senate bills searchable by keywords and access to the full text of the Congressional Record. It is a great place to see what is happening politically, as it provides links to hot activities in Washington.
